Description: Kellogg Company has an opportunity for a Food Safety Auditor in our Battle Creek, MI location. This position participates as part of a cross-functional team in the planning, execution, and documentation of quality audits of both Kellogg and supplier facilities and provides the Food Safety expertise for the audits. Leads development of and ensures consistent adherence to Kellogg approved audit criteria utilizing HACCP food safety and quality management principles. This position is also responsible for establishing and verifying equivalent standards are applied among all Kellogg North America business groups and ingredient categories.

Position Requirements: Position requires a B.S. in a technical discipline (Food Science/ Grain Science/ Food Technology Microbiology / Chemistry preferred) with a minimum 8 years experience in Quality Assurance including 4 years experience in food industry auditing techniques OR a high school degree with 12 years experience in Quality Assurance including 4 years experience in Ingredient or Supplier Management and 4 years experience in food industry auditing techniques.

-2-3 years supervisory or people management experience preferred. -GFSI auditor certification preferred. -Must have thorough knowledge of food safety and quality management systems and understands food ingredient law, food processing and controls, Good Manufacturing Practices, and Good Agricultural Practices. -The incumbent possesses leadership and strong communication skills, and diplomacy that will promote good relations with suppliers, Procurement & management. -This individual must be able to function effectively as a leader for the group, project manager, planner, coordinator, and communicator in a high risk situation. -Candidates must demonstrate objectivity and authority in all recommendations -This position requires 40-50% travel and work in a food processing or agriculture environment.
