Description of Job Function:
Develops and executes food microbiology training programs for customers, contractors, and AIB staff.

Principal Responsibilities:

  Develop training materials (seminars, webinars, publications) for food plant microbiology programs

  Administer training in the form of seminars, webinars, and private consultation

  Assist clients with the development, improvement, and trouble-shooting of their environmental monitoring programs

  Remain current on issues related to food microbiology

  Supports consulting activities in the areas of microbiology and food safety

  Assist with the review and presentation of existing food safety educational materials, in the areas of GMPs, HACCP, and Quality

  Maintain a favorable working relationship with all other company employees to foster and promote a cooperative and harmonious working climate that will be conducive to maximum employee morale, productivity and efficiency/effectiveness.

AIB Personnel; Field Services Clientele


Qualifications Required:
Education: BS or MS in microbiology and food safety or related activity, Food Science or associated fields.
Training & Experience: Five years experience administering microbiological programs in a food processing environment.
Administrative Skills: Should possess skill in oral and written communications, ability to organize and prioritize projects, work independently without direct supervision, deliver training materials in formal and informal settings in a manner consistent with AIB standards. Have working knowledge of Microsoft Office products for development, delivery, and communication of training programs.
Physical Skills: Must be physically able to safely ascend to heights, be able to bend, crawl and move safely and freely around machinery and building without assistance. Must have eyesight or corrected eyesight to safely work around and inspect equipment, and to prepare inspection notes and reports without assistance.

Other Comments:
Requires extensive travel of relative short durations anywhere in the world and the ability to work under difficult conditions in diverse cultural and physical environments. This is not a laboratory position.
