Food Safety Net Services - San Antonio, TX


Food Safety Net Services is currently hiring food safety auditors for full and part time positions recently created due to business growth. The full time auditors are required to travel up to 4-5 days per week; part time auditors may work on a flex schedule of 3 days per week or less.

Full time auditors receive a competitive salary and benefit package with FSNS. Part time auditors will be paid per completed job submitted. This is a great opportunity for a professional who wants to maintain food industry expertise, have a limited travel schedule, and earn a good income by conducting auditing services.


The function of this position is apply scientific, engineering, and analytical, and evaluation principles in research, development, production technology, quality control, animal welfare, packaging, processing, and utilization of foods in performing the essential responsibilities for this position.


  • Perform auditing services allowing objective assessment of functions and procedures for customers primarily in the meat, pork, poultry area as well as other food industry areas
  • Conduct food safety, animal welfare, regulatory, product evaluation, certification audits, and customized audits for plants and processing facilities
  • Demonstrates knowledge and skills in HACCP. Must be able to complete HACCP training certification
  • Demonstrates ability to become highly proficient with GFSI auditing requirements. Must be able to successfully complete BRC Third Party Auditor Training
  • Assist in developing the consulting and education branches of the company
  • Maintain correspondence and data interpretation for new and existing customers
  • Perform product quality/ food safety evaluations
  • Represent FSNS at trade shows and seminars
  • Maintain a high degree of technical competence by reading scientific journals, attending professional workshops and being aware of food industry issues and trends
  • Supervise or participate with special projects as assigned by the management team
  • Assist in the food testing laboratory as assigned
  • EXTENSIVE TRAVEL 90 % of the work week

  • B.S. Degree in Animal Science or related field
  • 2+ years experience or equivalent in QA or Food Safety
  • Experience with USDA and FDA inspected manufacturing facilities
  • HACCP Trained or Certified preferred
  • Quality Assurance or Food Safety Expertise in a beef, pork or poultry plant environment preferred
  • Working knowledge of USDA (FSIS) and/ or FDA inspections guidelines preferred
  • Animal Welfare Auditing preferred
