Food Editor - Minneapolis, MN
Job Description: Work in the Betty Crocker Kitchens and
create, vet or re-purpose engaging food content that inspires consumer trust
and loyalty for General Mills' advantage. Interface with multiple entities
including the Digital Editorial Team, Digital Assets, Marketing, Quality,
Photography, food consultants and the Bell Institute of Health and Nutrition
while supervising Food Technicians.
In this role you will:
Create compelling food content for business units, platforms and websites
that support strategies and meet consumer needs. Primary source of creative
food ideas and recipes for Betty Crocker Kitchens.
Develop and implement winning strategies, using consumer food trends, deep
food knowledge and competitive information to ensure that all GMI recipes and
food information are aligned with brand strategies, meet consumer needs and
encourage repeat purchases.
Develop creative food ideas and recipes which meet brand strategies in
order to strengthen product positioning and build brands.
Deliver food content via videos, desk-side visits, demonstration.
Manage test kitchen operations for accurate, cost-efficient development and
timely delivery of recipes and food ideas.
Assure overall quality and reliability for recipes that consistently meet
high standards and marketing viability.
Manage recipe development and production process. Responsible for accurate
preparation and presentation of recipes to test kitchen taste panel.
Provide ideas and insight on the recipe quality, appeal, convenience of
preparation and performance.
Incorporate current kitchen practice, cooking techniques, ingredients, food
trends that may positively impact food content.
Maintain best practices for recipe development procedures.
Bachelors Degree in Foods and Nutrition, Consumer Food Science, Dietetics
or other food related disciplines
2 to 5 years experience in test kitchen or
related area required
Additional culinary training
Demonstration of video presence
