Quality Specialist – Kraft Foods - Glenview, IL
This position is responsible for identifying, verifying, and reporting on potential or actual Quality Systems failures or non-conformities related to product safety and quality. This is accomplished by on site visits to internal and external manufacturing, sites and suppliers. The person must be able to make an independent evaluation of the audited site based on the Kraft Quality Policies, accepted industry practices and all applicable regulatory requirements, and appropriately provide a rating. Quality support functions will also be required as needed. The person will interface with Kraft manufacturing, suppliers, R&D and procurement. The position may reside in any North American Headquarter location.
BS/MS Food Science with focus on Quality, Food Safety, Microbiology and Sanitation (or appropriate related Degree)
Knowledge of quality systems, HACCP, ISO9001 and ISO22000
Microbiology, Food Safety and Sanitation experience desirable
Experience and/or auditing certification desirable, eg.: GFSI, ISO22000, SAFE
Practical experience in Kraft Foods categories, preferably high risk products, e.g.: ready to eat meat, cheese & dairy, nuts, aseptic and retort.
Computer literate - Microsoft Office
Intellectual horsepower, learning on the fly, problem solving, organizing, time management, Interpersonal savvy, perseverance, standing alone
