Position Location: Sacramento, CA

Job Summary:

Coordinates and executes the audit and compliance programs designed to assist clients in conforming to regulatory and customer food safety & quality requirements. Assist in the execution of the GMP audit and reporting program for clients.

Ability to conduct third party (HACCP, FPA, Food Safety) audits and associated training.

  1. Develop and implement Quality/Food Safety and Food Security operating policies
  2. Maintain a comprehensive understanding of all areas related to the food industry. *raw materials, *packaging materials *finished products.
  3. Educate plant personnel on correct procedures that affect Quality and Food Safety
  4. Help clients to ensure all GMP and Food Safety Standards are in compliance; USDA, FDA, HACCP, Pest Control etc.
  5. Prepare product documentation and evaluation reports and conduct on-site plant audits.

Requirements

Required Qualifications: (These are the minimum qualifications you need to be considered for the job.)  

  1. Minimum Bachelor's degree in Food Microbiology, Food Science, Chemistry or related field
  2. Experience in the food industry preferred
  3. Well developed written and verbal communication skills
  4. Organized professional with attention to detail
  5. Ability to analyze and resolve problems.
  6. Demonstrate strong teaching and presentation skills
  7. Ability to work independently and within a team environment
  8. Demonstrated computer proficiency within a Windows environment.
  9. Certified Quality Auditor training a plus
  10. Valid registration or certification as a Pest Control Operator/Advisor, Food Safety Professional or Sanitarian
  11. Proven knowledge of FDA Food Code and California Food Code
  12. Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information
  13. Ability to work with internal and external clients.
  14. Occasional overnight travel required.
  15. Microbiology background a plus.
  16. Bi-lingual Spanish a plus
