Assurance Specialist - Food – Seattle, WA
Job Summary and
contributes to Starbucks success by supporting the implementation and
execution of Quality Assurance programs and processes to ensure the
delivery of safe, wholesome, premium quality food products to our
customers. Models and acts in accordance with Starbucks guiding

Supports documentation implementation and updating of
Quality Assurance processes and operating procedures.
Audits food supplier and distributor quality programs
to assure quality, safety and regulatory compliance standards are met for
bakery, lunch, packaged foods and breakfast items including cold chain
Interrogates Customer Complaints database and reports
trends and potential issues on a routine basis.
Supports investigation and troubleshooting of quality
and food safety concerns from customers, distributors and retail stores.
Supports implementation of corrective actions.
Supports cross-functional project teams to ensure
company projects and initiatives meet Quality and Product Safety standards
and applicable regulations.
Conducts quality audits of new and existing items.
Summarizes conclusions and provides feedback to key stakeholders.
Compiles and reviews quality metrics, identifies
trends of potential concern or opportunity.
Supports implementation of corrective actions and
procedure improvements ensuring that they are consistent with industry best
practices and regulatory requirements.
Supports content updates and review of department or
company training programs, resource manuals, standards manuals and
Maintains Quality Assurance database records
(product, supplier, audit)
Be familiar with Distribution Center processes and
quality requirements and how it may impacts product safety and quality,
including cold chain management.
Act as back-up QA contact for Distribution cross
degree in Food Science/Technology/Chemistry, Nutrition, or closely related
background is preferred.
experience managing quality systems and/or quality assurance
department (3 years)
