of Associate Professor/Professor of Nutrition and Food Science in the
Department of Health and Kinesiology in the College of Health and Human
Sciences #65326R.
Position
Description. Reporting to the Chair of the Department, the Associate
Professor/Professor requires teaching, service, and research
responsibilities as well as a terminal degree. The successful candidate
will spearhead the development of and serve as Program Coordinator of a
Master of Science program in Nutrition and Food Science; teach
undergraduate and/or graduate courses in Nutrition and Food Science;
conduct research in the areas of Nutrition and Food Science; provide
academic and research advisement to students; promote and sustain
interdisciplinary dialogue and service; hold membership in professional
associations; and serve on committees and participate in official
activities at the departmental, college, and university levels. The
position is a 9-month, tenure-track appointment, and the salary is
competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience. A start-up
package is available.
Required
Qualifications:
Earned doctorate in Nutrition, Food Science, Dietetics or closely related
area
Proven record of productive scholarship including external funding,
publications, and presentations in professional venues
Commitment to excellence in teaching and learning as evidenced by a
presentation with students present during the campus visit
Commitment to teaching, scholarship, and service that is consistent with
the Colleges priorities for the Department and the mission of the
University
Ability to contribute to a positive work environment in the Department,
College, and University
Technological literacy and a commitment to integrate technology in teaching
and scholarship
Commitment to professional service within the University and beyond
Minimum of 4 years full-time college/university teaching experience at the
assistant professor level is required for the rank of associate professor
along with a strong record of research and service
Minimum of 5 years full-time college/university teaching experience at the
associate professor level is required for the rank of professor along with
a strong record of research and service
Preferred
Qualifications:
Registered Dietitian
Experience in developing graduate curricula in Nutrition and Food Science
Interest in working in diverse academic and professional communities
