Job Description
Responsible in conducting research projects leading to the
development of new food products from concept through commercialization or
product modifications. Conduct experiments, recording of experimental data
and communicating results to the Projects Manager. Solve technical problems
related to the development, manufacturing and modification of the food
products and processes. Perform troubleshooting and product and process
audits on all products within area of expertise. Provide technical input
and assistance in regulatory and labeling, nutritional and packaging. Will
be required to travel to various plants, co-packers or suppliers. Plan and
complete assigned projects leading to the development and implementation
into production of new or revised products, including the training of plant
production personnel. Record, collates, evaluates and interprets
experimental data and makes appropriate recommendations to the supervisor.
Qualifications:
MS
Food Science or related. 10 + years of experience developing food products
from initial concept thru to production including scale up. Ideally,
thermal processed products, i.e. soups, sauces, puddings and baby food.
Experience with trial runs and troubleshooting the process in the plant.
Able to independently coordinate all aspects of a project. Strong communication
skills.
