Canadian Blast Freezers/Canada First Brands is a growing food processing company, committed to providing industry leading product quality, customer service and new product development in meeting the needs of our customers.  With the recent expansion of our manufacturing facility, we are looking for talented individuals to join our team in Trenton, Ontario.


Position Summary

The role of the HACCP/Quality Assurance Coordinator is to maintain the facility’s HACCP and quality program. This includes all necessary on-site and record verifications as well as facility audits, processing sampling and training Team Members as necessary.


Position Responsibilities

·         Schedule and conduct annual review on documents, manage HACCP monitoring forms to ensure current versions are in use and obsolete documents are removed from the system, PDF documents and ensure availability on site drive. Tracks Food Safety Training activities: compile and produce reports for audits

·         Team member training (production, supervision, maintenance, engineering, etc.)

·         Food safety assessments and/or investigations

·         Develops, adapts and improves quality programs and procedures for the overall production activities of the plant (production, receiving, handling, sanitation, delivery)

·         Pre-operational verification and inspections

Position Requirements

·         Ability to manage the requirement of the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA), FSEP, Manual of Procedures and CVS tasks

·         Strong communication skills (verbal & written) as required to conduct training, interact with associates, present findings and represent the company on audits

·         Implement and maintain highly efficient quality systems, includes monitoring and maintaining systems pertaining to GMPs, HACCP, food safety, sanitation, and preventative maintenance

·         Ensure regulatory compliance and proper implementation of QA/Sanitation policies and procedures

·         Develop and execute training materials to support and reinforce Food Manufacturing Practices/HACCP/Sanitation programs at all levels of management

·         Effective and timely follow-up on corrective and preventative measures relating to consumer and/or customer complaints
