Senior Food Scientist - Dietary Supplements – Scotts Valley,
CA
Summary of Job Duties
Responsible
for successful piloting and commercialization of simple and complex dietary
supplement products, including powders, gummies, fizzes, confection, liquid
shots, bars, and so on. Color and flavor specialty a must.
Specific Job Duties
1.
Documentation Responsibilities: The Senior Food Scientist will manage
the documentation process relating piloting and commercialization of dietary
supplements.
2. Project Coordination: The SFS will be responsible for working with
Senior Researchers, Research Assistants, QC, and Pilot/Manufacturing to
create a realistic project plan and timeline for piloting and
commercialization of all new products and reformulations. The SFS will work
with the SR, Quality Control, Purchasing, Pilot/Manufacturing to track,
expedite and facilitate the progress of each product’s development through
the successful piloting and scale up to commercialization of each new
product/reformulation.
3. Communication Responsibilities: The SFS will interface with SRs,
RAs, QC, Purchasing and Pilot/Manufacturing to support the successful product
launch. The SFS will be involved with new products and reformulations until
the products are successfully commercialized. .
4. All other tasks assigned by Research & Development Director
Minimum Qualifications Required
1.
Minimum Master’s degree in Food Science or related field
2. Experience with dietary supplements
3. Ability to work in a fast paced multitasking environment
4. Excellent documentation skills/detail oriented
5. Color and flavor application expertise preferred
6. Computer literate (Word/Excel); type 25wpm.
7. Good written and verbal communication skills.
Skills and/or Training Desired
1.
Ph.D. in Food Science or related field
2. Specialty in working with dietary supplements
3. Flavor specialty a must
