Dairy Foods R&D Analytical Technologist - (1320977) – Arden Hills, MN

Land O'Lakes Dairy Foods division is a leading marketer of a full line of dairy-based consumer, foodservice and food ingredient products across the United States.

Position Purpose:

This analytical technologist will perform testing in the microbiology and chemistry areas of the laboratory on a busy 2nd shift, Tuesday through Saturday. Hours are approximately 2 - 10pm Tuesday thourgh Thursday and 12 - 8 Friday and Saturday.

This technologist will perform the following: basic microbiological analyses using official references, basic chemical analyses using official references, Quality Control functions, adherence to established record keeping procedures and methods, adherence to laboratory safety policies, participation in work team decisions and other duties as assigned. In addition, this technologist will maintain a clean and organized work area as well as accept and follow technical work direction.

Organization, teamwork and good communication skills are key to meeting customer needs. Problem solving, flexibility, and the ability to identify process improvements are important. The ability to follow laboratory protocols and keep excellent records is critical.

Qualifications

Experience-Education (Required):

Associates degree in a related technical field from an accredited university with related experience

Competencies-Skills (Required):

Good fundamental microbiology laboratory skills

Basic chemistry skills

Ability to provide clear and accurate documentation

Ability to accept and follow technical work direction

Ability to use Microsoft Word and Excel. Willingness to learn additional software systems, such as the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS)

Experience-Education (Preferred):

BS in chemistry, microbiology or food science from an accredited university.

Competencies-Skills (Preferred):

Problem solving and process improvement skills

Excellent communication and teamwork

Good initiative
