Job Description

Job Summary: The Plant Manager main responsibility is to plan, direct, or coordinate the work activities and resources necessary for manufacturing products in accordance with cost, quality, and quantity specifications.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

- Direct and coordinate production, processing, and distribution activities of the production plant. - Develop plans and strategies for most efficient usage of material, machinery, technology and employees. Propose budgets and approve expenditures for supplies, materials, and human resources, ensuring that materials, labor and equipment are used efficiently to meet production targets. - Constantly monitor processing schedules and production orders to make decisions concerning inventory requirements, staffing requirements, work procedures, and duty assignments, considering budgetary limitations and time constraints. - Work with technical department to resolve production or processing problems - Coordinate with Corporate Logistic Department on all related functions. - Develop and administer production information system to ensure availability of accurate and up to date production data for management decision. - Develop and carry out budget and cost control measures for all production activities. - Ensure the proper execution of quality control procedures. Responsible for all current facility related issues. Establish good working relationship with vendors and regulatory agencies including but not limited to Fire Department, Building department, Department of Labor, and other Local Government Councils/Agencies. - Involve in or responsible for new equipment and facility projects. - Oversee the maintenance and repairs of facility and equipments to ensure that they remain safe, secure, and efficient. Coordinate with Food Technologist in new product development projects. - Administer all employment, training, performance appraisal and salary related policies and procedures. Coordinate with Corporate Human Resources Department on all related issues. - Develop skills of subordinate supervisory staff to meet increasing people management demands


Required education: Bachelor s degree (Food Science or Industrial Engineering preferred)

Experience: 6 years progressively responsible management experience in food manufacturing industry. Experience in dealing with related governmental agencies such as DOB, DEP, Local Fire department and councils is a plus.

Knowledge: Knowledge of regulatory guidelines including but not limited to USDA, FDA, HACCP, GMP and DEP. Broad and diverse knowledge of food production processes. Understanding of mechanical and electrical principles.

Skills: strong analytical ability; excellent people skills and progressive supervisory skills; project management; excellent verbal, written and mathematical skills; systems implementation skills and experience; customer service orientation; change management; business acumen (understands business implications of decisions); ability to develop and maintain budgets; strategic planning (to contribute to the achievement of organizational goals); reasoning ability (define problems, collect data and make valid conclusions.)

Verbal and written Chinese skill is a plus.
