Manager Traveling LOCATION: San Juan Bautista, CA
(with seasonal travel to Yuma, AZ) REPORTS TO: Director of Quality,
Food Safety & Organic Integrity (QFSOI) DIRECT REPORTS: Sanitation Supervisors
and Sanitation Staff OBJECTIVE: The Sanitation Manager
is responsible for planning, directing and managing daily
Sanitation Department activity, ensuring compliance with standard
operating procedures at all times in both the San Juan
Bautista, CA and Yuma, AZ facilities. PRIMARY
RESPONSIBILITIES: Contribute to a
successful food safety culture by following the guidelines established in the Earthbound Farm
Food Safety Policy. o Follow all company food
safety protocols without fail. o Always perform tasks in
a manner that protects and promotes food safety. o Cooperate with
managers and other leaders to ensure all company legal and ethical requirements are met. Manage, motivate and
drive excellence among Sanitation Staff to ensure compliance with all
established standard operating procedures, including Chemical Usage, Organic
Integrity, Safety Procedures and Sanitation Audit Process. o Establish and maintain
a positive work environment in the Sanitation team and foster a collaborative
work environment across business units and externally with vendor partners. o Hire, train and
develop Sanitation Team members, including evaluating performance, coaching and taking
disciplinary and corrective actions. Plan, direct and
manage the execution of sanitation processes. o Manage and coordinate
the Master Sanitation clean up schedule. o Manage chemical
inventory levels, permits, licenses, applications and records. Verify that hazardous
chemicals are handled, stored and disposed of in accordance with regulations. o Manage and coordinate
third-party janitorial services and pest control providers. o Maintain close
communication with the Quality Assurance, Production, Facilities and Maintenance departments
to resolve issues. o Manage the Sanitation
Training Program and execute training sessions in compliance with company and
regulatory requirements. o Manage and monitor
corrective actions in cases where violations are found. Manage documents and
records. o Prepare, organize and
maintain inspection records. Distribute the Daily Sanitation Recap Report
to Operations management. o Update and maintain
records of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) as related to the Sanitation
function. o Ensure timely and
accurate submission of timekeeping records to payroll. Stay informed and
up-to-date on industry changes, trends and best practices, and assess the potential impact of
these changes on company compliance. Ensure compliance with
all company rules and regulations, SOPs and Good Manufacturing Practices
(GMPs) as outlined in the Code of Federal Regulations, Title 21, Section 110. Manage and coordinate
the departments seasonal relocation between San Juan Bautista, CA and Yuma,
AZ. Work closely with
QFSOI management and other Earthbound Farm departments to accomplish the goals and
objectives identified by leadership, including other projects and responsibilities as
assigned. REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE,
SKILLS and ABILITIES: At least 5 years
Sanitation or Food Safety management experience in a food processing environment
required Bachelors degree in
agriculture, food science or related field Experience with safe
and effective use of sanitation chemicals Functional proficiency
in MS Office programs, including Word, Excel, Outlook and database software
required Knowledge of food
safety requirements and regulations (federal and state), GMPs and HACCP programs Document control
experience, including knowledge of process, documentation and reporting standards Superior interpersonal
skills; able to get along well with diverse personalities Must demonstrate a
tactful, mature and professional demeanor; positive attitude and desire to be a team
player required Willing and able to
relocate to Yuma, AZ during the winter growing season, typically November thru April each
year Demonstrates ethical

in a cold/wet environment with strong sanitizer odor WORKING CONDITIONS: Working conditions
consist of regular exposure to a wet, refrigerated manufacturing environment (34-36
degrees F), strong sanitizer odors and chlorine smell, the presence of heavy machinery and
forklift traffic, loud noises and outdoor weather conditions. To apply for this
