Cargill has a unique opportunity for an EHS Supervisor in Fresno, CA in a Shared Service role serves two Business Units.The successful candidate is responsible for d eveloping and maintaining written policy and procedures to ensure Cargill,

OSHA and other regulatory compliance in a beef manufacturing environment. Must display strong skills in designing, developing and implementing comprehensive safety processes and management systems. Also, must be a focused team player with proven collaboration, team building and communication skills.

Principal Accountabilities

30% Hazard Assessment & Injury Analysis

25% Oversees the Safety Lead program, including all supporting documentation and processes

10% Record Keeping - maintaining accurate Behavior Based Safety data, incident investigations, as well as plant

inspections and developing action registers for improvement

10% Oversees the safety portion of the MOC process

10% Develops and conducts specialized training for workforce

5% Track and input monthly balanced scorecard information

5% Communication to all levels at plant as well as to other plants other Cargiill facilities and the Corporate office.

5% Other duties as assigned


Essential Functions/Requirements

May travel one to two times per year for trainings, audits, and or other business-related purposes

Education, Experience,Skills:

-HS Diploma or GED

-Minimum of 3 years safety leadership experience in a manufacturing environment

Previous leadership experience Skills

-Proven knowledge of safety regulations and requirements, plant systems and operations

-Ability to perform effective root cause analysis and apply corrective actions and preventative measures

-A high level of organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in order to meet deadlines.

-Strong written and verbal English communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with employees at all levels

-Ability to effectively communicate with outside regulatory and partnering agencies

-Demonstrated team building skills and the ability to positively influence others

-Demonstrated computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Powerpoint) and ability to learn Cargill specific applications

-A proven character strong in Cargillís Heart of Leadership (Integrity, Conviction, and Courage)


-Bachelorís Degree in Occupation Health and Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or related field

-Familiar with the requirements and implementation processes of ISO 18001/14001

-Familiar with Lean/Six Sigma concepts

-Bilingual English/Spanish
