Gonda (UP) (PTI): At least 50 people had
taken ill after consuming "chat" and other eatables at an Eid mela at Adampur
village here Thursday.
The villagers, who offered namaz at the
mosque, visited the mela nearby and consumed the
eatables served at shops and kiosks and later complained of vomitting
and dysentry, District Magistrate Muktesh
Mohan Misra said.
The incharge of the primary health centre Ramesh Tewari said so far 45
people have been provided medical aid while seven who are seriously ill were
admitted to the PHC.
