Position Summary:
Reporting to the Quality Assurance Manager, the Assistant Quality Assurance Manager will serve as Novelís primary internal quality resource with responsibility for documenting, auditing and training employees on Novel quality standards and conducting investigations when issues arise. The Assistant QA Manager will work to continually improve the companyís quality systems to meet the industryís highest standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Quality Assurance Manager in developing, administering and maintaining Food Safety, Standard Operation, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Safe Quality Food (SQF), and Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP) plans and procedures.
  • Perform monthly GMP, HACCP, and SQF internal audits.
  • Conduct safety training sessions, including Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP), for plant and office personnel.
  • Generate and maintain SOP's and training documents
  • Work to drive continuous improvement activities to improve food safety and compliance to internal quality standards and cGMPs.
  • Investigate and document non-conformance issues. Assist with the identification of root cause, recommend and implement corrective and preventative actions.
  • Identify and implement appropriate quality assurance policies and procedures.
  • Effectively troubleshoot quality issues in a fast paced environment
  • Foster a food safety culture through open communication and education with plant and office personnel

Experience: Three to five years experience in quality assurance activities, preferably in a nutraceutical, food or pharmaceutical environment.
Knowledge of Change Control, Document Control, CAPAs, GMP, HACCP and Food Safety Programs
Requires:

  • General knowledge of auditing. Computer literacy, as well as strong interpersonal, written and oral communications skills. Proficiency in Excel
  • Attention to detail is a must.
  • Ability to communicate with all levels in the organization.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, entrepreneurial environment.
