Developer-Principle Scientist
We have an opening for
a take charge individual who takes pride in their company and the impact
they make providing valued leadership and successful product development
work. As part of the Product Development team, the ideal candidate for this
position would actively participate as a team player in cross function
teams and take initiative in making decisions in regards to product
development and product quality. This individual would set benchmarks for
key milestones, hit those milestones and have excellent communication skills
to keep all relevant personnel and departments in the loop. They would also
apply good laboratory practices in documenting the development process,
performing bench top chemistry, and conducting sensory evaluations.
This individual will
learn the necessary skills to operate in a lean private label organization
that is always looking for quicker, more cost-effective and impactful ways
of doing things.
Overall Job Responsibilities:
- Utilize technical knowledge
in beverage processing (cold-fill, hot-fill and pasteurization),
ingredient functionality and market insights to formulate excellent
beverage products that are equivalent or better than national brands
in sensory, quality and at a lower cost.
- Support the successful
commercialization of new products with an emphasis on maintaining
product quality throughout the development and manufacturing process.
- Establish quality
specifications for ingredients, finished goods and process
parameters.
- Provide superior service to
marketing, sales and manufacturing by providing beverage samples for
sensory evaluation and concentrates for manufacturing scale-up as
well as technical recommendations.
- Optimize existing product
attributes (quality, stability, cost) by performing analytical and
sensory evaluations on new and existing beverage ingredients.

- Bachelors degree or higher in
Chemistry or Food Science
- Must have 2-5 years experience in food product development work
- Must approach challenges with
a positive attitude with the ability to quickly adapt to change
- Must be able to work in a
fast pace culture and demonstrate a strong work ethic.
- Must have technical knowledge
in food science or related fields of science.
