Torani wants you. We are looking for that special someone out there
who has everything below and that something “extra”. This position will
support the Research & Development and Quality Assurance teams ensuring
that products meet all applicable industry, government, and Torani standards. You will be responsible for
ingredient and finished product evaluation, including lab testing, to
determine compliance within these standards. Other work may include
supporting lab and formulation work—evolving into flavor blending
ACCOUNTABILITIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Hands-on assistance in formula development from initial bench
top concept prototyping to commercialization under supervision
Conduct lab investigation, data collection and analysis,
testing and documentation.
Edit, validate and reconcile formulae across all internal
Apply basic understanding of food ingredients, additives,
allergens, contaminants, food specifications and labeling regulations to be
the primary resource for customer inquiries.
Conduct literature and online searches to build knowledge
center on emerging technologies to address identified product
Evaluate and ensure the product safety, quality and regulatory
compliance of products Torani distributes both
domestically and internationally.
Maintain up-to-date data in Torani
legacy and operations systems including Technical Specification db and Oracle.
Provide product technical support to other departments such as
Production, Sales, etc.
Develop in-depth state-of-the-art knowledge of FDA, USDA and
Proposition 65 regulations and policies. Provide certifications on the
regulatory compliance of Torani products as
needed to support the business.
QUALIFICATIONS & ATTRIBUTES
BS degree in Food Science or related field
Minimum 2 years experience.
Ability to work with basic mathematical concepts
Knowledge of preventative system for assuring the production
of food/beverage products (HAACP)
Define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions
Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business
periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures and governmental
Ability to write reports, business correspondence and
Ability to effectively present information and respond to
questions from Torani team members and customers
Ability to develop and maintain prosperous relationships with
co-packers and suppliers
Good housekeeping of laboratory area
Proficiency in computer skills including Microsoft Office (Excel,
Word, PowerPoint), internet. Nutritional software (i.e. ESHA Genesis)
experience a plus

Established databases of quality attributes of finished
products and ingredients over shelf life
Technical Specification content is up-to-date and consistent
with other Torani documentation (i.e. Label

resource for questions on product formulation, allergens, nutrition facts
and international documentation
Regulatory/legal solution plans (i.e. Caramel color/4-MEI)
