Job Description

To deliver the scale up of NPD & EPD products and processes. Validate and document yields, costing parameters and new processes. Organise and carry out factory training required for launch. Continual yield & process improvement of existing products.

1. To champion the scale up of new products, from conceps through the launch , with a view to developing the most efficient / cost effective process.

2. Project manages the trial phase of the NPD process to ensure the launch is achieved to deadline. Manage the timelines and tasks as per the critical path.

3. To supply and document relevant information for customer presentations, internal specifications / best working practice. This includes, but is not limited to carrying out and recording: shelf life trials, organoleptic validation, transit and yield tests.

4. To support the writing of procedures and specifications for new products, EPD changes and developmental initiatives. Training of all process changes.

5. Ensures that all necessry scale up and yielding work is performed so that accurate costings and appropriate product quality is achieved.

6. To ensure that all new raw materials are fully tested and do not compromise materials handling, or storage requirements. Instead they should offer minimum wastage and be in a format that is technically sound.

7. Liase with customers and packaging suppliers to obtain the desired packaging and sure that it is fuly tested and fit for launch.

8. Maintain a sample library of approved products / materials through the development scale up procedure for du diligence purposes. Impl ementation, control and maintenance of BRC / best practice process development procedure.

9. To write process / internal specifications for new products, EPD changes and development initiated product changes. These documents must drive BOMS, customer specs and all other factory documentation required for launch.

10. Monitors quality of existing and recently launched products and agrees corrective action if necessary.

Requirments: Degree in food engineering or food science equivalent, minimum of 5 years experience in a process role within the food industry.
