Kellogg Company has an opportunity for a Food Safety Supervisor in Muncy, PA. This role encompasses responsibility within the Plant for the Food Safety functions. This person assists in continuous adherence and improvement of the facilities HACCP program. This encompasses the Food Safety Plan (HACCP) as well as the prerequisite programs that are the foundation for effective HACCP. Ensures that incoming materials and products produced are safe, wholesome and of good quality by establishing and maintaining food safety procedures and programs.

- by assisting Production in controlling quality with appropriate test procedures and frequencies on the line and auditing of finished products

This person will assist in & adhere to Food Safety Programs such as environmental monitoring & sanitation verifications.

-Will assist the Quality and Food Safety Manager in leading the cross functional team for development, implementation and sustainability of the Plant HACCP plan and prerequisite programs.
-Assure raw and packaging materials and finished goods meet Company specifications and standards with those out of specification being held, per the HACCP plan. Monitor methodology and techniques used for evaluating raw/packaging and finished products. Ensure proper documentation and records of test results.
-Champion process improvements and resolution of food safety issues. Provide technical and statistical support. Analyze product and process data for opportunities for improvement. Conduct food safety meetings for communication and resolving of issues. Communicate Corporate, customer, and consumer food safety concerns to appropriate plant personnel for resolution.
-Ensure compliance with applicable food laws and regulations or standards issued by regulatory agencies. Manage and audit HACCP program compliance internally and audit external suppliers as needed. Participate in and coordinate internal, FDA and SQF inspections.
-Ensure compliance to Kellogg Corporate food safety policies, procedures and applicable standards.
-Collect environmental samples for monitoring of pathogenic organisms in plant. Manage environmental RCA and corrective action program.
-Conduct and document clean up inspections and validations using swabs and/or samples collected for analysis.
-Assist in coordination of capital spending for Food Safety projects.
-Use influencing skills to achieve objectives in implementing food safety and programs at the facility. Exhibit leadership and strong ethical behavior to address food safety risks immediately and to stop production if necessary.
• Primary responsibility for execution of food safety training programs, monitoring effectiveness, retention and knowledge application.

Position Requirements -BA degree in Food Science, Microbiology, or equivalent is required with 3 to 5 years experience in quality & food safety.

Candidate minimum qualifications:
-Previous HACCP certification program design and implementation is required.
-Thorough technical knowledge of quality & food safety is required.

Candidate preferred qualifications:
-Experience in managing processes is preferred.
-Food processing and packaging is desired.
-Computer software skills to include Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
-Managing in a union environment is strongly preferred.
