Brief Description


In this role you will be responsible for leading the development, compliance, training, problem solving, best practices and general technical support in the area of food safety and sanitation across all Schreiber plants. Work with operations, technology groups, chemical suppliers and contractors to ensure equipment, processes and the plant environment is suitably designed, maintained and cleaned for food safety.

We are looking for someone to work from one of the Schreiber US plant locations but would be open to someone working from home.  This role would be eligible for relocation benefits.

Detailed Description


Duties of the role include:

  • Assist in the development of SSOP's, CIP, SOP's. Provides training to plant Sanitarians and partners. Perform troubleshooting and provides assistance in CIP programming validation.
    Provide sanitary design recommendations for new and existing equipment and modifications/installations on existing/new equipment. On new equipment start-ups, will provide sanitary design review, sanitation plan and verification procedures.
  • Review and analyze data from pathogen monitoring program, Pre-Op inspections, food safety audits (internal, third party, customer, and Regulatory), customer complaints, and utilizes this data to respond to trends and take corrective actions.
  • Proactively utilize process metrics and experience to prevent problems that could affect product quality and safety. Investigate sanitation issues, which are resulting in product contamination, reduced shelf-life, or customer complaints or rejection of products. Assist in the identification of root cause and corrective actions.
  • Work closely with Engineering and equipment vendors to assure that new or modified equipment meets sanitary design and regulatory requirements prior to purchase and installation. Validate that equipment modifications or new equipment can effectively be cleaned and sanitized to a microbial level.
  • Work closely with sanitation chemical providers and Pest Management contractors to maximize technical expertise and to drive results while being cost effective.
  • Conduct internal sanitation and pest control audits, work with appropriate Partners to address and resolve deficiencies.

Job Requirements


We're looking for leaders who thrive in fast-paced environments. The successful candidate will have:

  • A Bachelor's degree  in Food Science, Dairy Science, Microbiology
  • Minimum 10 years minimum plant production and quality
  • Basic Microbiology , excellent written and oral communication skills, technical knowledge of COP and CIP, cleaning and sanitizing chemicals, sanitary design of food processing equipment, auditing experience, computer and process excellence tools.
  • Desire to grow and take on new challenges and opportunities.
