Research and Development Technician –
Pittsburgh, PA
Lab Support is currently
seeking a full time entry level Research and Development Technician in the
Buffalo, NY area. This position will support Research & Development
initiatives through document review, communication, recordkeeping
and laboratory activities. Ideal candidate will have excellent
organizational skills, computer literacy, and laboratory experience.
Position reports to the R&D Manager and will directly interface with
Operations, Sales and Marketing personnel.
Responsibilities:
1. Organization of formulations, product
specifications, ingredient statements and associated information into the
central R&D database;
2. Review and updating of supplier quality assurance
files;
3. Maintenance of Kosher certification program;
4. Maintenance of Organic certification program
5. Preparation of Standard Operating Procedures and
associated documentation;
6. Review of labels for technical accuracy verse
product specifications;
7. Packaging and shipment of product samples to
customers and vendors;
8. General laboratory tasks including labeling of
materials, cleaning of equipment, weighing ingredients, documentation and
recordkeeping;
9. Collection of samples in support of trials and
validation experiments;
Required skills:
QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully,
an individual must have a basic knowledge of formulations, good laboratory
practices, be able to follow written and verbal instructions, and possess
good organizational skills.
EDUCATION
and/or EXPERIENCE (minimum) Bachelor’s
degree (B.S. or B.A.) from a 4 year college or university in Food
Science or Natural Sciences. To perform this job successfully, an
individual must have a basic knowledge of formulations, good laboratory
practices, be able to follow written and verbal instructions, and possess
good organizational skills.
