PURPOSE: To ensure the integrity, safety, and quality of Driscollís product

JOB SUMMARY: Overall responsibility for the development, management, and execution Driscollís Food Safety Training Program. This includes training programs geared towards harvest crews, ranch managers, cooler personnel, packing house personnel and food safety representatives in all growing regions with an initial emphasis on Mexico, United States and South America. Required training programs include but are not limited to, HACCP training, GFSI audit training, GlobalGAP training, risk assessment and mitigation training, food safety training for ranch personnel, food safety training for supervisor personnel, GMP training for facilities personnel, pesticide application safety training, etc. Must also be responsible for developing a program to monitor the effectiveness of these training programs and to make revisions and improvements to the programs as needed.
QUALIFICATION: Bachelor of Science degree in an Agricultural related field with emphasis on microbiology and plant science plus five years experience in agriculture with emphasis on microbiology and plant science. Experience and expertise in the development and implementation of food safety training programs is essential. Extensive knowledge of Microbiology, Chemistry, risk analysis and mitigation techniques, GAPS, GMPS, HACCP, GFSI, GlobalGAP, Pesticide Applicator Safety, and the creation, dissemination, and implementation of food safety manuals and SOPS. Excellent verbal and written communication skills; self-starter; computer skills; knowledge of laws and regulations of agricultural chemicals; Bilingual English/Spanish is required. Maintains a valid driverís license. Requires extensive travel.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
Procedures: Work Food Safety Team, growers, ranch managers, cooler personnel, and independent third party auditors to create food safety training programs in support of the understanding and adoption of Good Agricultural Practices. (GAPs) Work with food safety personnel to write and revise Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and cooler Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOP) manuals. Generate revisions and updates to these documents as needed.

Program Management: Manage daily activities of the National Food Safety Teamís food safety training programs. Develop new and existing staff to attain Driscollís food safety training objectives.
Production Area Audits and Visits: Visit all areas of production to support and develop the Food Safety Training Program, processes, and personnel.
Industry and Government Relationships: Maintain and establish new contacts with Government, University and produce industry organizations.
Advisor: Keep current with all food safety audit requirements and revise SOPs to maintain compliance with audits standards and regulatory requirements.
General: Ensures the security of Driscollís proprietary and confidential information and material. Follows Company policies and practices while representing Driscollís in an ethical and business-like manner in all interactions with employees, government agencies, growers, customers, etc. Performs other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
