Protection Department located in Qualifications:
4-year college degree required in food science or food technology. Registered
Sanitarian or CFSP certification required. Minimum 2 years, preferably 5
years of food safety and consumer protection experience in food service, food
or retail industry managing multiple projects to drive results and achieve
business objectives. Thorough understanding and knowledge of facility
construction and design including proper design of equipment used in a food
establishment and regulations related to food facilities. Knowledge of risk
assessment (chemical, physical and biological) and emerging food borne
pathogens and awareness of potential risk management strategies is required.
Knowledge of vectors and pests and pest control methods (educational,
biological, physical and legal). Thorough knowledge and understanding of
cleaning and sanitation procedures in food service /food manufacturing/food
retail establishment Prior work experience with meat, seafood, poultry,
produce, deli and foodservice a plus. Thorough understanding and knowledge of
public health (food safety laws and regulations) and weights & measures
codes and regulations. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong analytical and technical writing skills required. Ability to motivate,
lead and influence various levels of the organization. Ability to assimilate
new information quickly and react positively to new and challenging opportunities.
Demonstrated time management and prioritization skills required Energetic,
self-motivated and the ability to manage multiple projects and work with
multifunctional teams. Excellent organizational, planning and interpersonal
skills; high level of trustworthiness and integrity. Establish and maintain
effective communication with internal and external customers. Key
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Assist
in the development and implementation of standards, policies and procedures
related to food preparation, sanitation and pest control in retail food
establishment. Serve as a technical expert to resolve food establishment
closures/crisis related to Health Department inspections. Develop and assist
in the implementation of cleaning and sanitation programs in a food service
and retail food establishment. Evaluate and provide guidance on proper design
and construction of food establishments and equipment. Develop and assist in
the administration of retail food safety, facility sanitation, weights &
measures and pricing accuracy policies and SOPs across all divisions.
Participate in the development and implementation of retail food safety,
sanitation, weights and measures and pricing accuracy compliance audits.
Collect data in a scientific manner utilizing appropriate statistical
methodologies, perform accurate measurements and calculations and interpret
results. Develop executive summary reports with recommendations for
continuous improvement. Advise company management on regulatory compliance
pertaining to food safety, facility sanitation, weights & measures and
pricing accuracy. Identify consumer protection opportunities within retail
operations. Prioritize issues and lead resolution activities to drive
sustainable change. Create and disseminate project summary reports and key
findings to senior management team. Serve as resource for identification and
resolution of opportunities identified by various business units. Review
audit reports generated by third party service provider. Identify, review and
resolve any auditing issues. Participate and present information to
standardize (peer review) third party auditors. Provide innovative and
strategic ideas to support company growth. Serve as a resource to division
management and provide support in leave of absence of a division CP manager.
Other duties as assigned. Travel 25% to 50%.
