This
Position is located in the Department of Health and Human
Services
(DHHS), Food and Drug Administration (FDA), Center for Drug
Evaluation
and Research (CDER), Office of Compliance (OC), Division
of New Drug & Labeling Compliance (DNDLC), Silver Spring, MD.

Major Duties:
If
selected for this position, you will:
-
Apply knowledge of administrative and program management
principles and skills to carry out the mission of the
Division.
-
Seek and develop effective and fiscally responsible methods to
conduct and solve program problems.
-
Provide authoritative advice and assessments of the impact of
proposed
Administrative or Congressional actions on the programs,
functions, and activities of the Division.
-
Develop and implement Division policies and plans, and makes
critical
decisions and provides expert advice and councel
concerning
approaches
and options in relation to Office and Center goals and
objectives and Federal budgetary and economic realities.
-
Evaluate budget, fiscal, and administratiive
controls to manage
Division
programs and services.
-
Develop and make recommendations for the enhancement and
improvement of the mission and functions of the Division.
-
Direct the preparation of analyses of the impact of proposed
changes
to Agency laws and regulations which affect the functions,
program segments, and activities of the Division.
-
Develop innovative approaches to regulatory and enforcement issues.
-
Lead the development of compliance policies and strategies
involving drug labeling and unapproved new drugs.
-
Advise on the activities of the Division including proposed and
ongoing litigation, industry compliance status and field
activities.
-
Identify, coordinate and ensure the development and initiation of
compliance programs, policies and procedures.
-
Coordinate and manage operations of the Division and monitors the
quantity and quality of work being performed.
-
Responsible for determining work priorities, issuing assignments
to staff members and reporting progress on Division
activities.
-
Responsible for providing staff evaluations, managing personnel
problems, recommending and monitoring personal
improvement plans.
-
Ensure effective management of Division resources. Formulate and
execute plans and budgets for the Division. Provide
guidance and
direction
for Division on training needs, evaluating performance and
fostering career development.
Qualifications:
Basic
Requirements:
A.
Degree: that included at least 30 semester hours in one or a
combination
of the following: biological sciences, chemistry,
pharmacy,
physical sciences, food technology, nutrition, medical
science,
engineering, epidemiology, veterinary medical science, or
related
scientific fields that provided knowledge directly related
to consumer safety officer work. The 30 semester hours
can include
up
to 8 semester hours in statistics, or course work that included
the
principles, theory, or practical application of computers or
computer programming.

B.
Combination of education and experience--courses consisting of at
least
30 semester hours in the fields of study described in A above,
plus appropriate experience or additional education.

equipped

Specialized
experience is experience related to the work to be
performed. It may be gained in the following ways:

regulatory and administrative policies and procedures to monitor
and enforce compliance of the industry.

Knowledge of the Federal Food, Drug and Cosmetic Act (FD&C Act).
