The
Food Safety Manager will direct all activities related to Quality
Assurance, instilling an absolute commitment to excellence and customer
satisfaction. This is a Key Management position and essential to our
growth as a company!
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Develop, administer,
and lead the Company’s Food Safety and Quality department ensuring the
highest level of accountability and value for customers and stakeholders.
2. Develop quality systems to
include: SSOP's, HACCP, and GMP's
to ensure compliance with applicable state, FDA, and USDA regulations.
3. Oversee routine
microbiological testing of product and process. Develop and implement
traceback and recall program.
4. Oversee food safety
polices and procedures training of staff.
5. Serve as customer liaison
and coordinator for all Quality and Food safety relations.
6. Establish perpetual
education philosophy and practices throughout the company as it relates to
Food safety and Quality systems.
7. Plan and implement all
activities, products and services in a manner designed to reduce the
adverse environmental, social, and economic impacts and incorporates
commitments to continuous improvement, and efficient use of natural
resources and sustainable practices. Help design and construct features
for new products.
8. Conduct annual performance
reviews and address/document disciplinary matters as needed.
9. Must work safely at all
times and comply with all safety policies and procedures.
10. Participate in Inventory needs as necessary
11. Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
1.
Bachelor’s Degree in Science required. An equivalent combination of
education and experience may be acceptable
2.
A minimum of three to five years of related food processing or fresh cut
produce experience. At least one year of supervisory experience.
3.
Must demonstrate proficient PC skills.
4.
Must demonstrate exceptional oral and written communication skills.
5.
Experience working with relational databases, statistical programs, and
other tools to compile and interpret quantitative data.
6.
Expert knowledge of SSOP’s, HACCP, GMP’s,
and USDA. Must be familiar with microbiological requirements and testing
and implementing a trace and recall program.
7.
Experience in the fresh cut produce industry.
8.
Ability to operate a variety of Powered Industrial Equipment.
9.
Maintain Powered Industrial Certification for lift trucks, pallet jacks and
man lifts.
10.
Ability to frequently lift and carry up to 40 pounds; and, occasionally
lift and carry 70-115 pounds with mechanical assistance.
11.
Must have own transportation.
12.
Must be able to work a flexible schedule to include holidays and weekends.
