POSITION SUMMARY:
Provides technical knowledge & support for the industrialization of new products, and reformulations in the factory supporting Nestle' Prepared Foods business objectives. Participates as a team member in the NPDI process, to ensure projects deliver safety, product quality and proper performance in the plant operations. This position also supports both internal and externally identified NCE (Nestle' Continuous Excellence) and ensure supply projects. Individual reports to Springville Factory TAG Manager.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
' Commercialization project testing and start-up management of new and reformulated products to deliver the NPFC business plan and to maintain product quality and consistency.
' Overall coordination and management of plant trials
' Plant Interface for CTAG/R&D on New Product Development and Product/Process/Packaging Changes
' Product/Process Capability Development
' Overall Manufacturing Technical Subject Matter Expert
' Identify and recommend opportunities to TAG and local management, utilizing the short brief format and process that will enhance the efficient production of high quality products at lowest possible costs.

Safety:
' Ensures an understanding of risks associated with job and complies with all safety rules, procedures and work practices.
' Reports all safety incidents and actively works with Plant Management team to ensure a safe working environment.
' Elevates safety concerns about processes or ingredients to CTAG and Plant Management.
Overall Commercialization Process Leadership:
Is an active participant in CTAG project teams to contribute to product design and process capability decisions. Leads change management activities of assigned projects in the factory from validation trials and the industrialization phase through post launch.
Leads factory planning meetings to review trial requests and schedule necessary resources.
Leads factory discussion on current project status and to assist the plant functions in completion of required functional NPDI process activities.
Provides Operations insight in discussions on changes affecting the plant processes on assigned projects.
Plant Trial Process Leadership:
Issues and reviews the PTR (Plant Trial Request) and required forms that are complete, accurate and outline the overall trial scope.
Ensures the optimal use of the production line time for trials to minimize disruption to existing production schedules.
Coordinates and leads the trial with CTAG/R&D/Engineering. Facilitates trial after action review to ensure the project continues smoothly in the industrialization process.
Systems/Document Management:
' Responsible for all accurate documentation of formulas and manufacturing instructions, their development, maintenance, distribution, quality assurance and confidentiality.
' Ensure proper records of all recipes and test work is documented in files as per NQMS guidelines and SOP's.
' Safeguard company's designs, formulations, processes, packages and reputations in all matters

Plant Interface to TAG/R&D on New Product Development and Product/Process/Packaging Changes:
Interfaces CTAG/R&D/Engineering during technical development discussions.
Develops in conjunction with CTAG Brand and Processing teams the overall design of trial testing protocol for assigned projects.
Ensures the establishment of process control points and floor systems for assigned projects.
Works with the CTAG developers on strategies for leveraging existing ingredients and processes.
Reviews PRT's and graphics approval information for completeness and accuracy for the products/products affected.
Works directly with the Production Operations Managers and other plant functions on crewing required, yields and control points required for the product to being commercialized.
Develops SPC trending analysis on weight control by ingredient.
Ensures data collection to understand the capability trends vs. targets and to coordinate follow up action items.
Leads closure discussion for factory turn-over on assigned projects.

Product/Process Capability Development:
Works directly with the TAG/R&D/Engineering members to fully define how the process will be tested to better understand the capability of the process in a project.
Provide technical coordination on post trial proof of principle testing and next steps.
Overall Meals Manufacturing Subject Matter Expert:
Represents the plant in general conversations as a subject matter expert on manufacturing meals.
Provides working equipment/product knowledge guidance and support to the TAG/R&D/ Engineering resources during the development of new technology and processes.
Provides guidance to operations during process upset situations and is involved in the resolution process.
Maintains continuity with TAG/R&D/Engineering on future process capability possibilities.

REQUIREMENTS AND MINIMUM EDUCATION LEVEL:

BS Degree ' Food Science or related field. Masters in Food Science preferred.

' Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and interface with management and factory associates
' Some Travel Required ' 0% - 20% between manufacturing locations, Vendors and the Division Office

EXPERIENCE:

0-2 years experience in manufacturing or consumer goods industry. Experience in food industry preferred.

' Knowledge of food safety, regulatory requirements for food safety.
' Knowledge of Data Analysis and problem solving.
