skills as well as documented teaching experience.

Overall Purpose/Job Objective:
As part of a strategic initiative, the Department of Food Science will be
hiring an Assistant or Associate Professor of Food Sensory Science,
12-month, tenure-track position: 85% Research; 15% Teaching.
Responsibilities:
Develop a competitive and independent research program in sensory and
consumer science. Focus areas may include sensometrics, perception,
sensory metrology, psychological aspects of sensory testing, oral
processing or instrumental/sensory relationships. Conduct collaborative
research as part of faculty multidisciplinary teams addressing food
science research issues. The candidate will provide expertise and
interface with industry partners and will be responsible for directing
the Sensory Service Center. The candidate will also be expected to teach
a senior level and a graduate course in sensory science, to recruit and
advise graduate students, supervise undergraduate research, and securing
extramural funding from a variety of sources including Federal, State and
industry sources.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in successful grant-writing and sensory experiences such as
working in the food industry are desirable. A postdoctoral experience in
a sensory or consumer science laboratory will be considered a plus.
