Package Engineering has an outstanding opportunity for a Package Engineer in Maplewood, MN.
The 3M Package Engineering team is looking for an experienced and proven engineer to design and develop innovative packaging solutions for existing and next generation of Consumer and Office Products. Specifically, we're seeking creative individuals with a Bachelors in packaging or industrial design. Experience with Point of Purchase Displays and/or graphic design is preferred.
The successful candidate will work closely with business personnel to define packaging criteria; identify, present and implement inspiring design concepts, using a variety of packaging materials and facilitate package testing to ensure feasibility of the structural design. The position requires a strong understanding and alliance with global manufacturing locations to ensure manufacturability of the packaged product. Strong interaction with the Sourcing function and Packaging Suppliers is necessary to deliver sustainable design alternatives, samples and cost effective supply solutions. Responsibilities may include technical packaging commodity management, developing and applying knowledge of package material properties, converting methods and supply options. The ideal candidate designs packaging with the customer in mind with the ability to deliver on time. · Must possess or be in the last year of pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Package Engineering or Packaging from an accredited University
· Successful completion of a Packaging internship is preferred
· Experience working with Artios CAD software is preferred
