The Seattle District is recruiting for 2 temporary (may become

permanent) Supervisory CSO's.  One position will be filled in the

District Office in Bothell, WA.  The second position may be filled in

any of the Resident Posts in the Seattle District.

Key Requirements:

Major Duties:

This position is a first line supervisor in an ORA District Office

over one or more Investigatory units of Consumer Safety Officers. 

The supervisor is recognized as the authority in the program segment

(s), functions, and activities of the unit supervised.  The

supervisor is responsible for the technical and administrative

supervision of all unit employees (including Consumer Safety

Inspectors and support staff) which includes planning, assigning,

reviewing, and evaluating the work and performance of those employees.


Applicant must have experience which has equipped the applicant with

the particular knowledge, skills and abilities (KSA's) to perform

successfully the duties of the position, and that which is typically

in or related to the work of the position.

You must have a bachelor degree or higher that included at least 30

semester hours in one or a combination of the following: biological

sciences, chemistry, pharmacy, physical sciences, food technology,

nutrition, medical science, engineering, epidemiology, veterinary

medical science, or related scientific fields that provided

knowledge directly related to consumer safety officer work. The 30

semester hours can include up to 8 semester hours in statistics, or

course work that included the principles, theory, or practical

application of computers or computer programming.


Time-in-grade must be met within 30 days of the closing date of this


For GS-13: must have 52 weeks in a non-temporary appointment at the

GS-12 grade level.
