India: Forty food poisoning
cases reported in Vadodara village

Vadodara, October 15 At
least 40 cases of food poisoning were reported from Kothara
village in Dabhoi taluka
of Vadodara district on Wednesday.
Six
people, including five children, have been admitted to the SSG hospital in Vadodara.
The
condition of the children is now stable, said doctors at the hospital.
According to reports, the affected people had consumed a dudh-pauva
at a community dinner organised in their village on
the occasion of Sharad Purnima
on Tuesday night.
“The
cases of vomiting and diarrhoea started coming in
from Wednesday afternoon. By evening, 40 people were admitted to the local Government
hospital,” said Dr Dilip Vora,
Superintendent, Dabhoi Civil Hospital.
