Primary responsibilities of a QA Specialist (Food Safety) are maintaining and cleaning the plant and exterior grounds, and assisting the Food Safety Team Leader with fogging, fumigation, heat treatment, insect/rodent control, and other and sanitation issues.

Primary responsibilities of a QA Specialist (Food Safety) include but are not limited to:

1.Perform pest control schedule implemented by the Team Leader, Quality Assurance (Food Safety)
2.Perform spray treatments on potential infestation areas throughout the plant, including both surface spraying and crack/crevice treatment and commodity fumigations in accordance with company and state policy.
3.Perform compactor and open top trash pulls, reporting any maintenance problems to the Team Leader, Quality Assurance (Food Safety). Clean compactor room daily.
4.Maintain exterior grounds; i.e. yard work, snow removal on entry walks, running snow removal equipment (snow plow, cinder spreader, snow blower, quad-runner with scraper blade), weed control, trash, and debris removal, etc.
5.Assist Team Leader, Quality Assurance (Food Safety) with Integrated Pest Management Program and NCE, to include trailer inspections, 21 week aged inventory report, and assist in plant sanitation inspections.
6.Assist ingredient specialist at ingredient receiving in pest identification.


Other Duties and Responsibilities:
'Adhere to company policy and state regulations on pest control.
'Maintain outside grounds.
'Clean and maintain fumigation building, sheds, and applicable equipment.
'Follow all applicable items to be destroyed in compliance with NPP policy.
'Assist in maintaining chemical inventories and use of appropriate usage logs.
'Assist with set-up and coordination of heat treatments and plant foggings/fumigations.
'Entering into buildings during and after pesticide fogging wearing respirator and appropriate PPE.
'Proficient use of Microsoft Office, word, excel, and use of pest control program reporting.
'May be asked to implement special sanitation projects.
'Work closely with contracted janitorial service and chemical supplier.
'Perform all other duties as assigned.

 

Successful candidates will also meet the following qualifications:

Experience: Previous experience in a manufacturing, quality assurance, or pest management environment required.

Education: GED or high school diploma

Skills
'This person must become a Arizona State Licensed pesticide applicator after hired.
'Must be able to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed.
'Required to work both inside and outside under varying weather conditions (extreme heat and extreme cold) stand, walk, bend, kneel, for long periods at a time.
'Needs to be able to lift and carry 50 lbs.
'Must be able to work in heat treated areas with for limited amounts of time.
'Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision on routine repetitive work.
'Must be able to pass respiratory physical for using respirator.
