Job Description

Senior Food Scientist-Fairfield, N.J.: Plan, organize & execute R&D projects of baked & frozen goods to improve company's margins & efficiencies. Assess tech feasibility such as new & unique ingredients, shelf life evaluations & submission of safety clearance. Implement AIB, HACCP & GMP's food safety standards. Manage the Sanitation Department. Responsible for the development of David's Cookies' new product lines. Research & incorporate new technologies. Maintain clean & orderly R&D laboratory. Master's Degree in Food Technology & Processing (Equiv to a Bachelor's Degree (or its U.S. equiv) in Food Technology & Processing +5 yrs of progressive exp in the field). Employer is willing to accept any suitable combination of education, training or experience. Exp with product development of baked & frozen sweet goods in bench top & pilot plant scenarios. HACCP & AIB Baker Certifications are required. Experience with Genesis and NutraCoster nutritional software programs. Must be fully versed with local, state & federal labeling regulations including NLEA.
