Responsibilities
|
|
1) Develop and monitor food safety programs for growers,
suppliers of raw agricultural commodities, ready-to-eat items and
packaging materials
2) Audit necessary suppliers of all materials relevant to company’s
value-added business
3) Manage third party auditing programs
4) Perform training as necessary for growers, harvesters and in-house
personnel
5) Develop and monitor key processing facility food safety programs in
conjunction with Quality Assurance Manager and Director
6) Document standard operating procedures and maintain manuals, policies
and procedures
7) Work directly with QA Manager on key process-improvement projects as
they relate to food safety
8) Provide back-up assistance to Quality Assurance Manager
9) Manage and report on quality assurance data bases

Requirements
|
|
1) Bachelor of Science
degree (4 year) in Food Science, Microbiology, or related field, and
preferably 3 to 5 years of work related experience
2) Experience in 3rd party audits
3) Knowledge of food safety
4) Excellent detail-orientation skills
5) Good understanding of food safety
6) Ability to train growers, harvesters and in-house personnel
7) Computer literate
8) Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
9) Bilingual – English/Spanish (referred)
10) Willingness to travel – as needed to various suppliers and growing
regions around the country
