This Senior Food Process
Technologist position will work in the Cargill Food Applications
organization but will be dedicated to the scale-up of snacks and cereals
category. The position is part of a team consisting with
backgrounds in food science, nutrition, engineering and culinary, whose
goal is to drive added value and quality into cereal and snack
products. This position focuses on scale-up development of
ingredient systems, prototypes, pilot plant and commercial scale-up of
formulas, including producing samples for internal, customer, and
consumer tests. This position requires an innovative technical
approach to snacks & cereals development. The successful
candidate will have sound experience in project management, and will have
food process development and equipment operation background. Will
work across multiple functions, business units, and Cargill
customers. This position will require great interpersonal skills
and self-initiative.
This position will support a wide range of project activities including
new products, line extensions, and product improvements all pertaining to
cereal and snack product development. Responsibilities focus
heavily in project management for process development work, involving
running in-house pilot plant equipment, as well as prime-leading plant
trials, and start-up production for new products. Additional
responsibilities include the documentation of experiments and
equipment-based product development work, formula scale-up, process
troubleshooting, co-packer assessment, and IP development. The position
will require travel.
Principal Accountabilities:

Formula
pilot plant scale-up.
·
Design
snacks & cereals components/systems that are scaleable
on a commercial production line.
·
Ability
to manage multiple projects on a deadline basis.
·
Become
knowledgeable and manage the Snacks & Cereals Category pilot plant
equipment.
·
Category
ingredient inventory management.
·
Assistance
during the scale-up and start-up of new products.
·
Compliance
with Cargill Food Safety and EH&S policies.
·
Create
IP to help Cargill capture value from innovation.
·
Document
and protect all information as required by company policy.
·
Continue
skill development to maintain technical expertise.
·
Supervisor
of a food process engineer
·
Other
duties as required.
This position is covered under

Qualifications
Required
·
Masters
Degree in Chemical Engineering, Food Engineering, Mechanical Engineering
or Food Science with five years experience in food processing.
·
3
years project and people management experience.
·
Food
ingredients and applications knowledge.
·
Proven
innovation and creativity.
·
Good
interpersonal and teamwork skills.
·
Good
communication skills, both written and oral.
·
Ability
to travel, up to 30%.
