The QUALITY PROFESSIONAL will coordinate and execute programs to ensure that the quality and food safety production of Barilla America, Inc. brands are consistent with standards established by the Director, Quality & Food Safety.


The Quality Professional is responsible for all Barilla America, Inc. plants. This individual will be the Vendor Assurance Professional for Raw Materials, Packaging Materials, Finished Products and Logistics providers. Operating in a ISO 9001:2000 certified environment, this individual will diffuse the Barilla tools for Quality & Food Safety management system (HACCP, Integrated Pest Management, GMP, GDP) and guarantee their correct application and improvement. The successful candidate will also ensure that all the measures to guarantee finished product compliance with specifications are properly executed.


In addition, the Quality Professional coordinates the Plant quality control activities following established guidelines, methods and assistance. This individual works closely with Purchasing and R&D units in applying the company’s Set of Vendor Assurance tools:  vendor scouting, risk analysis, approval/surveillance audits, supplier performance evaluations.


The Quality Professional will also implement key performance indicators (KPIs) on Quality and Food Safety and use them to promote continuous improvement. He/she will also be recognized as the technical reference supporting all company departments for Quality-related issues and will identify and lead cost reduction/effectiveness improvement projects.


Along with supporting the Barilla Complaint Management System in the U.S., the Quality Professional will provide prompt, accurate information and documentation in case of Food Safety Crisis.


Qualified candidates will possess the following:

--Bachelors Degree in Quality or related field

--2+ years CPG and/or food company experience in a corporate environment

--3+ years in Corporate Quality including root cause analysis, quality management, continuous improvement and non-conformities, corrective and preventive actions

--Experience with quality tools such as QMS projects, ISO 9001:2000

--Food Safety experience preferred

--Proven track record in continuous improvement in the quality arena through the use of quality management tools

--Strong project management skills/capabilities

--Strong written and verbal communication skills

--Ability to travel up to 30% domestic with the possibility of international travel
