Audit / CV Description
PURPOSE Coordinates
and executes Tri-annual food safety & GMP inspections and compliance
assistance programs designed to assist clients in conforming to regulatory
and customer food safety requirements in accordance with industry
specifications and standards. Perform consulting, training, audit, and
certification activities in support of customer food safety and quality
programs. KEY
RESPONSIBILITIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES ·
Emphasize
and maintain a high level of customer satisfaction through customer contact
and assessment of their needs. ·
Educate
plant / facility personnel on correct procedures that affect Quality and Food
Safety ·
Ability
to perform observational audits using internal Food Safety GMP standards and
Regulatory standards such as FDA, USDA, etc. ·
Coordinate
audit meetings, prepare written audit reports and review with facility
personnel. Prepare documentation and evaluation reports and conduct on-site
plant audits. ·
Help
clients to ensure all GMP and Food Safety Standards are in compliance; USDA,
FDA, HACCP, Pest Control etc. ·
Ability
to conduct third party (HACCP, GMA-SAFE, GFSI, Food Safety) audits and
associated training ·
Assist
in development and implement Quality/food safety and food security operating
policies ·
Maintain
a comprehensive understanding of all areas related to the food industry industry *raw materials, *packaging materials, *finished
products ·
Review
records, reports and other documentation to substantiate completion of
programs ·
Acts
as an operational liaison with all other ACHIEVES service related programs ·
Develop
and update member/customer audit expectation manuals to complement the audit
programs and services ·
Develop
and implement policies and procedures within member/customer
plant/facilities. E.g. audit complaint process, technical/clerical review,
SOPs, etc. ·
Conduct
audit technical reviews ·
Serve
as a technical resource for member/customer clients, and other ACFSQ business
units ·
Deliver
presentations to growers, shippers, distributors, buyers, trade associations,
regulatory agencies, and product user groups ·
Travel
domestically and internationally to support clients, attend conferences
and/or trade shows ·
Participate
in marketing activities and publication goals as developed in the business
plan or as necessary ·
Oversee
the development and implementation of overall process improvement within the
plant/facility ·
Audit
production facilities for compliance against established FSQM, HACCP and BRC
standards. ·
Establish
tactical and strategic roadmaps for evolving HACCP, BRC and Food Safety
Quality Management systems towards implementation success and sustainability. ·
Perform
other duties as requested Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS
& EXPERIENCE ·
Bachelor
of Science degree in Food Microbiology, Food Science, Chemistry,
environmental health, agriculture, or a related field ·
Certified in one of the GFSI benchmarked
standards preferably BRC, SQF ·
Certified HACCP Manager or Auditor ·
Certified as a GMA SAFE Auditor ·
Five (5) years related work experience with
growers, processors, and distributors of food products / dried fruit &
tree nut a plus ·
Minimum of two (2) years of supervisory/leadership
experience ·
Working knowledge of GAP, GOP, GMP, HACCP, SPC and
related technical areas ·
Experience with audit procedures for food safety
and quality ·
Excellent written and verbal communication skills ·
Technical knowledge of computer
user applications ·
Proven knowledge of FDA Food Code and California
Food Code ·
Prior experience as federal or state food safety
investigator highly valued ·
California DPR QUACK holder a plus ·
Working knowledge of the 21 CFR, Section 110, GFSI
and HACCP standards ·
Quality Assurance and Control experience ·
Experience in microbiology, food processing
facilities a plus ·
Ability to analyze and resolve problems ·
Demonstrate strong teaching and presentation
skills ·
Ability to work independently and within a team
environment ·
Demonstrated ability to handle confidential
information ·
Ability to work with internal and external clients ·
Strong organizational and time management skills ·
Demonstrates successful decision making ability ·
Ability to remain calm in explaining audit results

(MS-Office, Power Point, business intelligence applications and tools), an

Ability
and willingness to travel by car or plane up to 50% Some Overnight travel
required ·
Inspections
require walking, stairs, reaching, bending, kneeling, crouching and smell ·
Work
performed in both office and processing facilities ·
May
occasionally lift up to 25 pounds ·
Exposure
to eye, back, wrist and elbow strain, airborne particles, caustics, chemicals,
fumes and odours ·
The
noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate ·
Periods
