Job Description

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Providing oversight in the development, control and ongoing maintenance of Dawn Ingredient, In-Process and Finished Product specifications in information management systems on a global basis.  The position assures accuracy, adequacy and approval of all specifications as well as consistency across all Dawn Foods manufacturing locations.  Additionally, the Specifications Technologist will:

Interface with Quality Assurance, NPD, Regulatory, Procurement and Operations personnel on a global basis to assure access to and flow of accurate information relative to the development, maintenacne and control of ingredient, in process and finished product specifications;

Design, develop and maintain the global PLM system architecture necessary to maintain specifications in an accurate and appropriate manner;

 

Enter data into the SAP Specifications Management database and provide required data to requesting parties;

 

Participate in other special projects and quality and food safety compliance requirements. 

Job Requirements

Minimum three years experience in the development of food ingredient and food product specifications; 

Demonstrated working knowledgewith initial set up and configuration of Product Lifecycle Management software;

Technical understanding of basic physical, chemical and microbiological attributes of food ingredients;

Proven leadership and development of teams;

Excellent written and verbal communication skills;

Internal and external customer relationship management capabilities;

Strong analytical, organizational and time management skills.

 

Bachelor's Degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Biology or other Science Related field; 

 

Must be able to work different shifts and multi-temperature environments and be able to lift up to 40 lbs.
