Quality Assurance Manager

 

Job Summary

The Quality Assurance Manager will assist in planning, coordinating, and directing of food safety and programs designed to ensure the safety and quality of the production of products consistent with established standards (USDA, local health regulations, company and customer standards). This position will be in charge of the quality programs at 2 processing facilities and 1 distribution center. Products include raw, heat treated and fully cooked beef, chicken, turkey, pork and lamb.

Duties and Responsibilities

 

Formulates and maintains quality objectives complimentary to corporate policies and goals. Plans and oversees the analysis, inspection, design, and testing to assure the safety and quality of products, including:

Develop, document and maintain complete and current HACCP plans and microbiological testing programs for each facility

Lead customer, 3rd party and USDA food safety, quality & regulatory audits

Create new policies and procedures and modify existing policies as deemed necessary

Investigate non-compliances and complaints and coordinate, develop, document and communicate corrective actions and preventative measures

Maintain a working knowledge of HACCP, Sanitation, GMP, USDA guidelines, directives and notices, chemical safety, food allergens, pest control and food microbiology

Identify areas of improvement in current plant systems and operations to increase the level of food safety

 

Education and/or Experience

Minimum Associates degree, Bachelors degree preferred

Minimum of 2-5 years in a Quality leadership role in a food manufacturing environment, USDA experience preferred

Minimum basic HACCP certification, advanced certification preferred

SQF experience, certification preferred

Strong computer skills with experience using Word and Excel & ability to generate reports
