Job Description

PRIMARY FUNCTION / PRIMARY GOALS / OBJECTIVES:
Works with Development Scientist on a variety of assignments related to the development and commercialization of new or improved nutritional formulas. Interacts with other functional areas to facilitate the product development process. Good oral, written, computer and mathematical skills required. Ability to multitask and attention to detail a must.
Core Job Responsibilities:
Conducts routine procedures according to written and/or verbal instructions
Completes run summaries and progress reports
Calculate expected results, performs unit conversions and organizes data
Submits electronic requests through IRIS and LIMS
Submits manufacturing and ingredient requests for pilot plant research
Coordinates ordering/release/inventory of non-commodity ingredients
Weighs ingredients, prepares batches, and supports production at the product research center
. Create a Planning - tracking table for the stability program of the trial products


MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for implementing and maintaining the effectiveness of the quality system.

2. Submits IRIS and LIMS samples for analysis and tabulates results
3. Organizes non-routine testing, completes these tests and summarizes results

ACCOUNTABILITY / SCOPE / BUDGET:
The primary job function will be accountable to Senior Development Technologists for the timely and accurate completion of defined project requests.

Skills/Experience Requirements

Basic Qualifications:
Knowledge of applicable regulatory standards and requirements for infant formula and nutritionals.

0 3 years technical work experience. Experience in developing food/nutritional products a plus. Will consider technical/scientific degree with no background in industry. At this level the person should demonstrate an understanding of scientific principles whether gained through academic training or practical experience. The candidate should also demonstrate the ability to handle multiple priorities as well as a good work ethic.

Preferred Qualifications: BS in Food Science and Technology

Education Requirements

1-2 years of additional technical education post high school and/or equivalent work experience is required. Science or Chemistry preferred.

Continuous sitting for prolonged periods (more than 2 consecutive hours in an 8 hour day)
