Description

This position provides leadership, direction, and oversight to a specific manufacturing location, for Quality and Food Safety. This role exists to ensure the facility delivers the required standards of quality and food safety according to Kellogg policies, procedures, and practices. This role is also responsible for delivery of continuous improvement and working with Corporate Quality in the execution of company programs. The role delivers these accountabilities through direct involvement with manufacturing, corporate quality, the plant leadership team, and plant/bakery employees. The role will ensure key operations metrics are established, the delivery of the established metrics, and that quality and food safety expectations are met. This role directs, plans, and implements food safety, quality, and sanitation programs for the facility. This role requires the partnering with Corporate Quality & Food Safety regarding corporate programs and best practices. This position ensures adherence to required quality & food safety laws, regulations, corporate policies and practices. This role also is responsible for facility oversight during all hours of operation.Reports to the Plant Manager with a dotted line to the corporate Director Quality Programs. This position interacts with all levels of management at the facility, to include the Plant Manager and his/her direct reports, supervisors and production employees.This position is part of the leadership team for the facility. Responsibilities include working collaboratively across all business units and with corporate support to ensure best practice sharing and continuous improvement.This position is responsible for the budget associated with the function of Quality & Food Safety for the facility. Requirements

BA degree in food science, microbiology, or equivalent is required. 8 to 10 years experience in quality & food safety. . Previous HACCP certification program design and implementation is required. Thorough technical knowledge of quality & food safety is required. Strong written & verbal communication skills, analytical ability, leadership strengths and ability to work effectively with a team are required. Prior Quality & Food Safety leadership experience is preferred. Experience in managing people and processes is preferred. Food processing and packaging is desired. Computer software skills to include Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
