Job Description:

Looking for an experienced Quality and Food Safety Manager with strong leadership skills.


Responsibilities include:

-Leading the facility in adherence to and continuous improvement of an effective HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point) program
-Leading, coaching and training in all areas of product safety and compliance with applicable food safety laws, regulations and/or standards issued by regulatory agencies, and with Corporate food safety policies, procedures and applicable standards.
-Collaboration with Operations in preparing for and managing audits and inspections.
-Managing the plant laboratory, assuring that the rigorous testing requirements of a food manufacturing facility are met or exceeded .
-Developing and maintaining all required documentation and records
-Assuring that sample collection procedures; environmental monitoring; raw materials, packaging materials; and finished goods that meet all regulations and standards.
-Effectively, timely investigation and resolution of food safety issues
-Planning, participating in and documenting validation studies.
-Assisting in the development of capital budgets for Food Safety projects.
-Directly leading and managing the Quality team, and using effective cross-functional team skills to develop credibility and a collaborative ‘quality first’ environment.

Requirements
-Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry or other relevant discipline
-A minimum of 8 to 10 years of experience in Quality Assurance and Lab, with at least 3-5 years of experience in food manufacturing
-At least 5 years of experience in a similar leadership role with increasing levels of responsibility
-Expertise in Good Manufacturing Practices
-Strong computer skills – Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
-Excellent communication skills – written and oral, as well as effective influencing skills.
-Strong critical-thinking, problem-solving and decision-making skills
-Process-oriented; demonstrated background revising/improving processes
-Experience creating training, educational or presentation materials a strong plus
