Assistant Professor – Food Scientist – Stillwater, OK
The Department of Animal Science, Oklahoma State University is seeking applicants for an 11-month, tenure-track, 65% teaching and 35% research position in meat and food science. The successful candidate is expected to develop a nationally recognized program in meat and food science teaching and research. The successful candidate will have a significant teaching responsibility in food chemistry, food analysis and meat processing, and a significant undergraduate advising responsibility. The successful candidate will also be expected to establish an applied food science and technology research program in processing and product development. This person is expected to work as a member of a multidisciplinary team of food scientists and technologists. There is an expectation to obtain external funding from industry and other granting sources, and publish research findings in scientific journals. Requirements include a Ph.D. in Food Science, Animal Science or a closely related field with an understanding of food chemistry and meat processing. Documented interest and experience in meat science or food science is required. Applicants must be committed to both teaching and research excellence. Preference will also be given to individuals with good communication skills, good interpersonal skills, and a strong capability in teamwork.
