Job Description

The Director of Quality Assurance & Food Safety is responsible for developing and managing all QA programs, policies and procedures, managing internal and external auditing of quality systems, safety and quality of all incoming ingredients, and finished goods produced and insuring that the operation is in compliance with all food related regulatory agencies. We pride ourselves on the quality of our products and the cleanliness of our facilities, as such, the Director develops, implements, revises and monitors QA policies and procedures and the training and development of key QA personnel, hourly and management personnel, per company QA policies and procedures. Manage and resolve Corporate QA problems and ensure total compliance with all outside agencies. Responsible for review and monitoring of customer complaints line and responding accordingly with consumer and working with risk management on potential litigation claims.

Skills

• Certified Food Safety Manager and/or Certified Food Safety Professional or equivalent.
• Bachelor of Science: (biology, microbiology, or other related field).
• Minimum of 3 years experience performing restaurant food safety/QA inspections.
• Minimum of 7 years in restaurant food safety (preferably QSR), with 3 years supervisory experience.
• In-depth knowledge of production plant processes, FDA Model Food Code, HACCP principles, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s), Good Agricultural Practices (GAP’s), Sanitation Management, and Pest Elimination.
• Must be able to taste all types/kinds of foods with no aversions or allergies.
• Must be able to work in typical restaurant and distribution environments (hot grills, cook rooms, blast freezers, etc.).
• Physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs, working all positions within a restaurant and no limitation to standing for extended periods of time.
• Excellent oral and written communications skills and ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management.
• The ability to effectively work multiple tasks/projects at the same time.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent computer skills: (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access)
• Be capable of travel up to 25%, including out-of-state airline travel.
• Must maintain valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for local travel.

Our first location opened in TN in 1969. The goal then was to serve high quality, quick-service seafood. Fast forward to 40 years later, and we have grown to almost 600 restaurants in 23 states and several countries overseas.

Our menu offers a wide variety of fried and grilled fish, shrimp and chicken dishes, pasta meals, salads, regional seafood favorites, as well as a wide variety of side items including corn, baked potato, coleslaw, tossed salads, hush-puppies and southern style green beans.
