Based in Lititz, PA, this position would be responsible for the bench-top creation and formulation of new cocoa, chocolate, and compound products to support our core business.  You will be responsible for developing, preparing, testing, and providing bench top support on Cargill Cocoa and Chocolate (CCC) existing products, any revisions of those products, and/or new development.  You will work in conjunction with the Product Development Team, on a range of functional or novel ingredients to aid in the improvement or optimization of existing products or in the development of new products for our customers. 
 
A successful candidate in this position will have expertise in the food industry and in process design.   You will work in conjunction across multiple functions, business units, and with Cargill customers, as needed. We will require the candidate to exhibit exceptional interpersonal skills and self-initiative.
 
Principal Accountabilities: 

  • Conduct physical and sensory analysis on chocolate, compound, cocoa powders and finished products as required.
  • Act as Sensory Coordinator Designate in absence of the Sensory Coordinator.
  • Match competitor chocolate, compound, and cocoa products via bench-top applications.
  • Maintain all project related records from log in to finished project filing, as well as, all relevant technical correspondence with customers.
  • Generate costing formulas and specifications as required.
  • Assist in filling customer sample jars and creating special blends as required.
  • Assist in maintaining database of competitor products.
  • Partner with senior staff members to develop a more advanced technical skill set.
  • Assist in coordinating specification approval for cocoa powders with the site of manufacture.
  • Assist Cocoa BU's with cocoa powder complaints as applicable.
  • Update sales with new chocolate, compound, and cocoa powder specifications.
  • Work with customers to recommend stock products or create new products that meet their needs.
  • Investigate technical related issues for Sales, Brokers, and Customers.
  • Source ingredients.
  • Follow up and generate key learning reports as a result of plant scale ups.


 

Required:
 
Bachelor of Science Degree
Customer facing experience & presentations
Minimum of 1 year of product development bench top experience.
Good communication, interpersonal skills and teamwork mentality.
 
Preferred:
 
Food Science Degree, project management experience, and technical knowledge of Cocoa, Chocolate and Compound.
