for an Associate Scientist Product Development. This position is taking
place at a well-known food product leader in Whippany, NJ.

This is a 12 month temporary position at 40 hours per week.
Description: Sets up, operates and maintains laboratory instruments,
monitors experiments, makes observations, calculates and records results,
and often develops conclusions. Individual is familiar with basic
scientific principles and has had some laboratory experience. Can follow
written direction and maintain a laboratory notebook. Has good
communication skills and is computer literate. A degree- chemistry, food
science, material science GMP, GLP, FDA, RCRA, and OSHA knowledge is
required.
Experience in the following: Sample prep, samples submission and
analytically work with Excel. Formulation batch sheet, stability
background and passion for food.
Requirements: Strong knowledge of food technology and/or material
science. Ability to demonstrate creative flair, problem solve and
capability to transfer product from design to bench top prototypes.
Demonstrate team building competencies, strong time management and
complex problem solving abilities. Ability to self-direct; forward
thinking, make complex decisions that drive day to day performance.
Identify proprietary and patent opportunities to improve company
competitive advantage in the market. Excellent oral and written skills.
Previous lab experience is a plus.
Day to day includes: gum and candy batching,
Formulation development, Weighing ingredients, Maintaining detailed lab
notes and reports, Quantifying physical properties of gum and candy using
analytical equipment
