Manager of Food Safety / Sanitation –
Duties will include but not limited to;
o Will be in charge of the laboratory and all testing.
o Instruct, train and give direction for QA Technicians as they will report to the Director of Food Safety/Sanitation of Food Safety.
o Maintain and Implement all of the Quality Programs that ensure Berner Foods meets all compliances & regulatory requirements of Food Safety.
o Overseeing the Environmental Program
o Overseeing the Sanitation and maintaining the Master cleaning schedule.
o Overseeing HACCP and enforcing the CCP’s.
o Overseeing Plant and line audits as they pertain to Food Safety.
o Overseeing Allergen testing on an as need basis.
o Training and assist in training of all employees for food safety programs i.e., GMP, Sanitation, HACCP & HAZ COM.
o Over seeing all chart recordings ensuring compliance with the CCP’s.
o Responsible for implementing or assisting in any new programs for Quality or Production as it relates to Food Safety.
o Will inner act with all Food Safety regulatory agencies i.e. FDA, USDA.
o Prepare and perform all 3rd party audits pertaining to food safety.
o Oversee and monitor Organic programs
o Oversee customer complaints and give reports
o Assisting in quality set ups for production
o Overseeing quality checks in MVI
Education & Experience
· A degree in a Food Science or Microbiology area is required.
· This person needs to have a minimum of 5 years experience in the food industry as a Quality manager or higher level position in Quality.
