Job Description

Purpose

As a Group manager Food Safety, you will develop strategies for Target’s Food Safety and Sanitation Programs to ensure all Target, SuperTarget stores are incompliance with federal/state/local laws regarding food safety and sanitation.

  • Developing strategies to improve hygiene and sanitation in Target stores
  • Developing new tools to improve and monitor execution of best practices for hygiene and sanitation
  • Developing strategies to improve time and temperature monitoring in Target stores and new tools to improve and monitor execution of best practices for time and temperature
  • Working as part of Food Safety Corporate Team to develop strategies to improve Food Safety and Quality through out the supply chain
  • Acting as a liaison to Government regulatory agencies to ensure that Target Stores have the latest information on public health issues, regulations, interpretations and enforcement practices
  • Implementing corporate programs and developing procedures to ensure compliance with legal requirements and company policies in regards to Sanitation Supply and Pest Control, in addition to monitoring service reports and assisting with action plans to correct facility defects noted
  • Developing and managing store audit program to determine compliance with legal requirements and corporate policies regarding sanitation and food safety
  • Conducting store audits to determine store compliance with corporate policies and government laws
  • Partnering with the Training Department on food safety and environmental compliance training, ensuring training is executed and implemented at stores
  • Assisting stores with food borne illness/tampering/contamination incident investigations
  • Maintaining partnerships with related store operations to address issues that could affect food safety and quality, SBS, store planning, merchandising
  • Working with FSQA to ensure that the highest quality of food is offered to our guest
  • Overseeing food safety budget
  • Leading a team that oversees store performance on food safety and assist in addressing issues
  • Leading a team that develops tactics to improve food safety compliance





Job Requirements

Minimum Requirements:

 

  • A college degree in food or health science or a related field
  • Minimum 5 year experience with food safety
  • Excellent ability to problem solve
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills




Desired Requirements:

 

  • Professional certifications is environmental health and food safety fields
  • Work experience in GMP, HACCP and regulatory agencies
