Assures that all Quality Assurance specifications for finished products are monitored and properly reacted to in a timely manner.  Responsible for the coordination of food safety activities and ensuring food-safe, high quality products are produced that meet or exceed all regulatory and legal requirements.  Responsible for maintaining a safe work environment for all employees.



·        Performs and coordinates all Quality Assurance activities throughout the plant to assure that proper procedures are followed and specifications are met.  Reviews data and notes trends for possible problems, recommends solutions.

·        Coordinates and monitor activities of employees engaged in inspecting, and testing product, applying knowledge of  Food Safety & Quality / Assurance standards  and procedures, coordinates HACCP program. Assists operations in proper training of line personnel in GMP’s, HACCP and Process Improvement to ensure products meets customer expectations.

·        Responsible for assisting management in providing a safe and healthy work environment, free of all recognizable hazards.  Must understand and comply with Keystone’s Foods safety performance audit, such as providing safety training  to employees conducting safety inspections, following up on work orders,  and documenting  necessary requirements.

·        Communicates with Plant Management of all levels any problems or opportunities relating to production, personnel or equipment, to assure an efficient flow of quality product (raw and finished).  Maintain liaison with USDA and/or FDA personnel and assures that the pest control program is being performed properly and documented accordingly. 

·        Directs and coordinates investigation of complaints concerning unsatisfactory products.   Recommends response to complaints, considering test reports, production records, and complaint validity.  Maintain proper and accurate records of all QA/Food Safety product documentation.

·        Oversees audits and inspections of areas to investigate sanitary conditions and health and hygiene habits of person handling product.

·        Conduct team meetings to relay management, QA and food safety information to employees and solicit response and input to work related problems.

·        Work in a team with other staff to achieve a plant operating efficiency of 85% or   higher.  Continually work towards the improvement of products, processes and   productivity and service utilizing the principle of Total Quality Management.   Effectively communicates through active listening; acting on input; sharing information in an open, timely manner an encouraging others to dot he same.   Maintains appropriate confidentiality.   



BS or BA degree required.  Major in Food Science, Biology or related field

5 to 7 years of food safety experience

HACCP knowledge and experience required

Minimum 5 years experience in the food industry

Statistical process control, process improvement and auditing skills required

Good written and oral skills required

Minimum 5 years experience in QA/QC
